I guess it's an issue that is on everyone's mind but no one really cares about it but i think when sub-standard service is being shoved at your face even though your paying service tax , then maybe you should start giving a damn about . Yes , i'm talking about Singapore's abyssmal standards in the service industry .

SBS : Pls train your bus drivers , after a long day at work , people very much would like to go home and rest their minds and aching feet . We don't have to put up with your accusory tones of "HAVE YOU SCANNED YOUR CARD ? , sending vibes of connotations of thievery and fraud along with it . Maybe a service drill guidebook stately the exact protocol of proper mannerisms would be helpful to the entire bunch of mentally challenged bunch of bus drivers esp , those driving the 88 bus route , more specifically Mr Poon Ah Choon . Well , the only smart thing SBS did was to provide name tags for the bus drivers .

Waiters : Asking for plain water is not a mortal sin at a restaurant . Dirty looks are not required . While restaurant staff have a inexplicable ability to see hands signals , maybe someone should tell them that by the fact we have to signal to them , reflects the lack of sensitivity on the part of the wait staff . A smile would be nice and additional requests on our part is fully justifiable coz we do pay service tax . Instead of pondering over the phenomena of why singaporean don't tip , you could do spend more time considering how to improve yourself . Btw , I don't exactly fancy eating at pizza hut/mcdonalds or wherever , after seeing your staff squat around some corner smoking in your uniform . While i would criticize how the staff at fast food outlets mutter their daily prayers and chants of "Welcome to XXX , how can i help u " in a manner as most of us would say "i love washing the drain" , at least fast food restaurant train their staff in protocols . Unlike a certain Mr Poon Ah Chuan from SBS .

Call Centres Personnel : Pls don't attempt to set standards to answering your calls in 3 rings coz honestly , what your doing is merely making us hear 3 really long draggy ringing tones , which is probably 5 times of the normal ringing tone . How delusional can these companies get ? . Stop the phoney accent too . And if i have to hear "pls hold , i'll transfer u" more than 3 times , it just means you people have no idea what you're doing . Maybe it's time to start some form of knowledge management initiatives . If i needed to get to be passed from one call staff to another like one would feel (totally naseous) on a 88 jam packed bus , i would take Mr Poon Ah Choon's bus .

While you might think that this is really funny blog entry , pls note that whatever that i've stated here is happening in the current reality and it's really important . Just imagine having Ah Lians with their sammi cheng music as SIA girls . SIA would probably have to retrench their entire fleet of girls ( not like it's a bad thing if they are ah lians , but you get the drift. ) Singapore's future as an international hub is at stake here . Lets make it one of Singapore's attainable goals , unlike a certain goal involving soccer , the world and a particular cup .
