The Return of the King ( Kong )

I really love Peter Jackson . He and his amazing abilities to lose weight . Well okay , and his fantastic skills as a director . King Kong , the blockbuster of this season proves to be another money spinner and half the kids all over island will be wanting their King Kong figurines and the other half will be wanting a T-Rex figurine . The rest of the adult population will either want a naomi watts or a adrien brody sex doll and Peter Jackson will want a Jack Black doll cause he resembles a hobbit.

Point is , King Kong lives up to it's name of being an action blockbuster film. Replace car chase and bomb blasts with monkey growls , throw in adventure and mystery and of course who can forget , the ornamental female lead . King Kong works in the same vein as any Arnold or Sylvester action films . If you really notice the picture above , Is King Kong yawning , is he growling ? God knows , what i do know is , the range of the 3 actors are the same . ( and people wonder why king kong was snubbed for nominations at the recent golden globe nominations list .. Geez )

Many people have tried to change my point of view by saying , King Kong is a movie that goes beyond all the growling and thumping of chests , it is a movie of how love can transcend and reach out beyond superficial difference . It wasn't just about the airplanes . It's really quite hard to take them seriously . Never have i sat through a movie where probably 1 out 3 hours consisted of ZERO dialogue and just lots of growling , thumping of chests and whatever it is that monkeys do . Now if it was Lindsay Lohan growling and thumping her chest , it would be something to look forward to , but it's just stupid ol' monkey .

If we really want to extrapolate learning lessons out of the movie , i'll say , instead believing that love transcends your exterior ( put on a monkey suit for a week and see how people respond ) , try this . King Kong is representative of the general male populate . Easy to please with simple entertainment acts of juggling balls and boobs . Growl when you can't get what you want and be extremely territorial , and overall , very very dumb . Also note the change in the attitudes and actions of the male population when the fairer sex appears . "and beauty stayed the hand of the beast" .. or something along those lines .

It was rather disappointing movie and it definitely reminded me of jurrasic park and if you notice , the scales on the T-rex are very very similar to the scales you'll find on the crocodile. I'm nuts i know . Not as crazy as Jack Black wanting to shoot his film in Singapore . Hello ! , just what exactly are you planning to find here ? I assure you our diva Ah Meng will not just take any crap role from Hollywood . She only does arthouse and indie films. No mysterious oriental beauty either , Just PAP .

While i'm only interested in the wardrobe portion of the upcoming Narnia Chronicles ( i reallly don't care about the lion and witch ) , lets just hope that i'll prove to be a better show than King Kong .
