I was watching "Birth" with adeline yesterday . ( i was kinda close to typing with nicole kidman , instead of adeline , my mind is flying away ) ... i digress .. but anyway . Even though it was a rather thought provoking show , i fell asleep towards the end of the movie and only woke up when the credits started rolling . Hehe . If anything . it's not the movie . It's me . I'm just very tired . Tired over what ? , i have to no idea . Just tired . Been having half-fuck sleep for the past few days . I even dreamt of my driving instructor yesterday night , except that instead of going through my driving test results , he was going through my chinese paper results . yes . totally . weird .

Anyway . More on "Birth" . "Birth" starring Nicole Kidman , mainly , is about how the past revisits the present with devasting effect . Nicole , plays Anna , a widow who about to remarry and start life anew with her new husband after grappling with her husband's death 10 years ago . However , nearing towards the engagement , enter 10 year old boy , who claims to be Nicole's dead husband , which changes and whole dynamics of the current family relations .

What really bothered me about the show , was not about the unclear ending , but truly , the crux of story of how people throw their lifes away for s single , inconsequential , flippant , minute thing . There have must have been umpteen times where i've heard people lament about how they are unable to deal with the terrors of the past and how it affects them . Letting the slightest association of the unhappy past , put their life in imbalance and having to relearn and purge the painful memories . It would an outright lie , i were to tell you it's possible to forget everything of the past , but i believe that one should have a certain control of the effects of the past and embrace the present for what it is . There is really no point in dwelling on the past when clearly it's the present that you should concentrate on .

Yes , it is destabling to find out that after so long , endless attempts and efforts to forget about someone ( In the movie , Anna , took 10 years ), to find yourself affected by the slightest hint of that person . However , should you allow a shadow of the past to gain control over , then perhaps , that's where the problem lies . One should be cognizant of the effects and steer away from before you slip further , dare i say , back to what you once was . Yeah . and we all know that's not a very good tourist spot .

Whatever i'm saying probably seems familiar because it's such a common problem , but sadly , people just don't do it . Perhaps , it's what that makes us who we are . Without our past and previous experiences . We will not be what we are today .

Anyway , back to the movie . It's quite a good movie , but perhaps , after drawing certain parallels to your own life .you'll walk out from the theatres , feeling melancholic and reminiscing ... sigh .
