Survival Skills in SMU

I seriously cannot wait for school to end . I mean .. just go away and stop bugging me for the next 4 months . While the first year of school have yet to be over i've realised a few things .

Study smart , not hard
this especially applies to lame subjects like AS . don't bother wasting your time on them . go do more productive stuff like watch tv and copy assignments later

Choose your project mates carefully
While learning how to manage your team can prove to be a useful skill in the future . it's a fucking waste of time and time wasted to bug other people eats into your productivity period . If people cannot be disciplined to do their own work , maybe they shouldn't be allowed into the society in the first place . Beware of JC students parading as undergraduates and people who live in their own world .

CCAs are important , but it's not everything
They are important in buliding up your social capital and knowing more people school which will definitely help you find ways to study smart. but they are not everything . your academic work comes first . everyone is busy , citing busy as a factor is no longer a valid excuse . If you want to make CCA your main goal in school , join OSL . not SMU .

Play Hard
School is fucking boring and you need an outlet of destress . Alcohol after school is highly recommended . They sell yummy hoegaarden opposite SESS and nice bands at Timbre . Did i mention shopping as well . hehe .

Meetings are a waste of time
go in , delegate work . fuck off . ( this comes with an assumption that your project mates are efficient and come prepared for meetings . ) If not , be prepared to stay in the GSR . Imagine stuffing your project mates with cream puff or think of creative ways to kill them and not get caught . it helps to pass the time .

Coffee is good
i heart starbucks . The counter staff at city hall know my usual drink by now . i'm not kidding . Coffee makes sleep irrelevant and increases productivity by leaps and folds . They should sell Ritalin to SMU students .

Enjoy your life
No matter what the shit is . enjoy whatever there is enjoy while it's there , because if you don't , your annoying project mates will be more than happy to zap the happiness from your life .

Learn to Wayang
Learn to smoke , to crap , to weasel , to fluff your way out in any situation . No one can tell the different between critical insights and seemingly smart comments if you lace it with big words and sound confident . really . Bluff . Lie . never let people know what you don't know .
