Soul Mates

As we sat around during supper and talked about the possibility of there is someone out there being the one , we came to the conclusion that "we're fucked" , however as i was reading , "eat , pray , love" by Elizabeth Gilbert, something which i wanted to read since i saw it at Shakespeare and Co in Paris, it offered a different perspective which i found to be rather highly enlightening .

"People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror; the person who shows you everything that's holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down you walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever ? Nah . Too painful . Soul Mates , they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you and then they leave. And thank god for that. Your problem (referring to the author) is, you just can't let this one go"

So i guess the conclusion is . You can have soulmates , but perhaps , not get hung up over them and go crazy over a singular entity.
